Timocco’s platform has so many great games for skill development, and we wanted to take some time to highlight one of our favorites, Fish Spell.
The name of the game does contain the word spell, so there is definitely a letter/word component to this game, but it doesn’t have to be played with letters; you can also play with colors or shapes. The game mostly works on motor accuracy and efficiency, sequencing, spelling, as well as visual perception & discrimination.
To play ‘Fish Spell’, the player must choose the correct letters/colors/shapes to complete the sequence. They can hold their hand over the snail to hear the word repeated if they decide to play with the spelling feature.
Another great feature of this game is that the therapist can create settings that force the correct fish to appear on a certain side of the screen to practice midline crossing on a specific side or both!
Also, depending on how challenging they want to make it, they can increase the speed of the fish, or choose how many objects to sequence (3-5). Similarly to all of Timocco’s games, there are endless combinations of unique settings to ensure the game suits the player.
Whether or not you’re a good swimmer, we’re certain that you’ll have fun working on skills with these fish!
