Timocco is one of 15 ed tech companies awarded funding through the NewSchools Ignite Special Education Challenge. Each cohort member is committed to create or expand an innovative ed tech product to help millions of students across the country who receive special education services achieve their most ambitious dreams. In addition to the funding, NewSchools will provide management assistance and create a community of practice for the cohort members.
We will be expanding research and development through the NewSchools grant. With this funding, we’ll expand our offerings that will better match IEP goals and positively influence even more students.
Our work in the educational sector has blossomed and this opportunity will allow us to further analyze the most effective and meaningful ways to integrate Timocco’s platform into classrooms throughout the US. The grant will broaden Timocco’s ability to positively impact the teachers, therapists, and most importantly students by designing and developing new games and activities that align with IEP goals and useful everyday tasks while complementing the curriculum.
Timocco’s CEO, Eran Arden, commented, “The NewSchools Venture Fund Grant gives us the ability to expand our reach and help more kids with special needs develop the functional skills that they need”.
“While it may sound obvious that students with disabilities need additional support, few ed tech tools exist to support this diverse group of students,” said Tonika Cheek Clayton, Managing Partner at NewSchools Venture Fund. “We believe ed tech tools have the potential to address many critical needs in special education. That’s why NewSchools Ignite is proud to invest in Timocco to develop engaging tools to reimagine special education learning.”
