Each Week OT expert, Sarit Tresser will be giving an in-depth insightful analysis into the various ways Health Games aid children with disabilities. Stay connected to receive first-hand input from a professional the field of child development
I am writing this post from a personal perspective, as I share my experiences from the Naidex exhibition, which took place in Birmingham, London. Naidex brought all of the innovations in the field of specialized equipment and updates for the population of those with special needs.
As with every year, the team went to present Timocco at the exhibition to receive feedback on our system, to enjoy the children and adults’ experience, and to become more familiar with the English market.
This year our presence in the exhibition was very exciting since we had a lot of games and services to offer the children, the parents, and the therapists.
On the first day of the exhibition, which lasted 3 days, we woke up early and went to the huge and impressive exhibition hall in order to build Timocco’s stand.
We were happy to host Tobii in our stand, a company that shares our common vision and enables people with disabilities to be active, involved, and communicate through the use of Tobii’s eye tracking technology.
To our stand came Mariza, local Occupational Therapy, who joined the team and will further assist us in everything that is connected to the distribution of Timocco in England.
Later this day Ben joined us, who has also became part of our team and will help us with the product’s promotion in Tobii’s context and in general.
Establishment of work was then completed and the energies were high. Soon after came the start of the exhibition.
The exhibition was active; there were a lot of interest. There was a fascinating combination between professionals to parents and children. We launched our new online system, Timocco Online, and it was a wonderful opportunity to get real feedbacks from the participants of the exhibition. Thanks to the online system, we could offer the parents an array of 50 games with a wide variety of adjustments geared to the special needs of every child.
In fact, the significance of Timocco’s online system is far beyond the activities themselves. The very fact that the system samples data and enables tracking after progress, provides the tools to prove the efficiency of the intervention that has been given by the occupational therapist who accompanies the process in the online system. This way, Timocco can assist the parents in applying to Government agencies, present them with the child’s progress, and based on it, hand over a request for entitlement to treatments.
For parents who bought Timocco Online, but their child does not currently get occupational therapy treatment, we offered to provide one from Timocco’s team of occupational therapists who will work with the family by using the remote control system.
Working with Tobii in the stand was also exciting because of the combination between our contents with the ability of data analysis, and their smart, accessible technology. This created a winning integration that enables us to suit the right activity to every client.
There was much excitement from our experiences at the Naidex exhibition. See you next year!
